New ‘Coastal’ wall art print for John Lewis. This was designed using 3 layered monoprints which was quite time-consuming. I had to wait for each layer to dry before printing the next, and then it had an element of uncertainty as to where the plants would fall, but as in real life, the unpredictability gave it a freshness.
Just had a preview of my new ‘Malmo’ design for Sanderson Fabrics available in wallpaper and fabric in four colour-ways. This was inspired by a trip to the Matisse cutouts exhibition at MOMA in New York.
Today I am mainly drawing vegetables.
Look what we pulled up next to at the lights……………………Only in California !
Look what I grew ! I love artichokes, they’re fantastic to draw and then you can eat them afterwards….and apart from the odd earwig, they’re delicious !
Ok, bring on the weekend ! Today I finished two designs, ( I had to wait for the shipment of spraymount to arrive before they could be completed ), finished cutting 2 linos and printed another design, which now lies drying in the rack, and finally I have some accounting to do, then perhaps a glass of Prosecco to welcome in the weekend !
My new desk has just been delivered…..I am so excited, at last a work surface which is purpose-built to the correct height so that I’m not stressing my back whenever I print a lino.
Beautiful fabrics and bedcovers at the Pasadena Flea Market.
